Day One of Puerto Rico
Today,
we got to explore Puerto Rico's tsunami point, where I took a picture with my flag featuring my cat. While we were enjoying the view and taking
pictures, we got to eat lunch, talk, and see the iguanas communicate with each
other. We spent the afternoon snorkeling around Caracoles Island, conducting both mangrove and queen conch surveys. We wrapped up the day by organizing and reviewing the data we collected.
I was able to take pictures of different points of the mangrove root, and I will be able to identify different organisms that live and coexist on the root. After all my group members finished their surveys, we gathered as a group and moved to another area to conduct conch surveys. As we were snorkeling, I saw a huge tarpon pass by the group and me.
