Day 3 in Puerto Rico started with mangrove surveys. It was super interesting to see just how thickly the mangrove trees are and just how far their prop-root can extent from the main trunk. There were tons of hermit crabs scuttling through the trees. My favorite part of the day was getting to climb into the tree to hang up the litter bags. While it required a bit of awkward maneuvering to get into and out of the tree, it was really cool to learn how to set the collector up.
