Hey guys! So today we went to Enrique to do Mangrove prop roots surveys and Benthic surveys! Today I found out I can do the splits in the water... aka the first pic. Benthic surveys can be a little hectic but thank god for fins, otherwise the current would have me GONE.
In the mangroves there were TONS of squirrel fish, turns out they're kinda sketchy but as long as you keep your distance they don't bother you! We also got to take a tour of the research center here, where they are growing Diadema antillurum and Caribbean King crab! These are important for the area because they eat the macoalgae, that is currently taking over coral populations!! Overall another great day in research paradise!
