Day 1! Crazy for Caracoles!

Today we started with a huge grocery trip... who knew you could fill a whole cart with just deli meat! We had a later start today so we went and did a cute little lunch at tsunami point on Isla Magueyes! We saw tons and I mean PACKS of iguanas. Cool but low-key terrifying.

We got in the boat to head to Caracoles at 1 pm and snorkeled until 5! We looked at Mangrove prop roots and did some conch surveys for NOAA. Unfortunately no conch found today, but there's hope yet...(please let me find an empty one).

We got back to the house, showered and started on data analysis, figuring out what was on the prop roots was interesting because you can't see some things while in the water. That's why it's important for us to survey these sites to see what's actually growing! Turns out most of it was cyanobacteria...

Now it's 10 pm and I'm ready for bed, getting an early start to the morning to help cook breakfast! TTYL
