Weekend Fun @ La Parguera, Cabo Rojo

Rest days are extremely important! Having been able to sleep in even an hour later (as I am NOT a morning person, every hour is precious), was so rejuvenating, especially after such a memorable night out on the town of La Parguera!

The Sunday morning hike to Cabo Rojo was also very nice, and a great way of keeping moving, even when we’re not due to snorkel! The views were so gorgeous, it is something I won’t take for granted– we took a lot of pictures! At the start of the trail, there was a little ice cream stand, and I got some passion fruit ice, which was absolutely refreshing after such a hot hike. Learning about the salt flats was really interesting, and I can’t wait to see what results we get from the water quality tests we will do on Tuesday. Hope to see something interesting!

For the rest of the day, we relaxed and cooled off by the pool, ate some delicious local fruit, and played some great music!

We got so much downtime today, I got to reading Suzanne Collins' Sunrise on the Reaping, which got released pretty recently, and since I have been a fan of her work since middle school, I gave it a read. Needless to say, my heart is broken in two and I am not even halfway through the book yet... I took a much needed breather (and good cry-- from the book I promise) and we sat down and had a delicious dinner of pasta and it was SO GOOD there was even garlic bread made by Emma and Matt :)

Afterwards we winded down playing a kids version of cards against humanity?? Sounds silly and weird, which it was (too many poop and butt jokes for me lol), but had everyone bawling laughing, and it just made sense as a perfect way to end the night.

Tomorrow we're headed to Steps Beach, which is a pretty popular spot from what I hear, and we have plans to snorkel there! Hoping to see some beautiful views like today, and enjoy the beach.
