Preparing to leave on Sunday! Learning techniques and material

Today we started our time in the classroom and lab to get ready for our trip to La Parguera, PR! This week we will be teaching the students about the ecosystems that we will be exploring in the La Parguera Natural Reserve starting next week! We fly down on Sunday 05/18 and our sampling begins on Monday 05/19. It is hard to believe this time is already here. There is so much preparation needed to get ready for these trips to ensure our time in Puerto Rico is well spent and enjoyable. Our group of 10 Texas A&M University at Galveston students will begin their blog posts as well so you can hear from them directly. This week we are teaching the students some of the methods we will be using during our time in PR including, plankton tows, cell counts, benthic survey analysis with CPCe, building food webs using Ecopath, mangrove surveys and more!
