Even with some minor sunburns (rip the back of my neck) today was still an adventure. We started off with returning to Cayo Caracoles to collect sediment core samples, which my group rocked at by the way. After all samples were done, we got to have a fun snorkel and look through the mangroves to see all kinds of wildlife, my personal favorite was the tarpon that came to say hello before then. Once everyone completed their benthic surveys, we went back to a fan favorite site, Enrique, to collect benthic data in a coral reef environment. I loved how some Thalassia was mixed in as well! I've also gotten really good at processing CPCE data from our benthic surveys and uploading them into our collection spreadsheets. It's so fun just clicking away on the program. Plus, we got to enjoy lunch outside today and admire the beautiful view of La Parguera. This trip is a dream come true, and as always I'm looking forward to what other adventures we get ourselves into tomorrow.
P.S - We had an ice cream truck stop by the house! Dessert before dinner? Yes please!
