On today's adventure, we traveled to Cabo Rojo National Wildlife Refuge, where the views were absolutely stunning. We arrived around 9:30ish and immediately started our hike. Thankfully, it wasn't a steep hike, but our first stop was near the lighthouse that overlooked the ocean surrounding the cliffs. The water was a deep teal color, surrounded by strips of Sargassum. As we continued our hike, we would stop occasionally to get pictures as well as to take in the view. In the middle of the hike was the beach area, but due to the influx amount of Sargassum, we ended up opting out of the swim. However, the rest of the hike was gorgeous. Another stop we made was cliffs that were covered in a variety of crabs, snails, and chitons. It was a hot day, so we were all pretty exhausted by the end of the hike, but thankfully, there was a little ice cream stand near the entrance of the refuge. Before leaving the area, we toured the salt pans, and it was quite a sight to see.
