Today, we took a boat to the University of Puerto Rico and took all of our gear and headed out on another boat to Enrique for a fun snorkel! Before that, we went to pick up our mangrove leaf litter traps from the island. The bridge was broken from a previous hurricane, so Dr. Matich pulled me up really quickly from the ledge so I could walk back to the boat. During the snorkel, I saw FOUR porcupine fish, angel fish, and many nudibranchs at the first location. This was definitely my favorite fun snorkel so far because I saw some of my favorite organisms. At our second site in the mangroves at Enrique, I saw an arrow shrimp, lots of urchins, fire worms, and an OCTOPUS!! The water was so shallow that I was only a few inches above the ground, but it was so nice. I saw so many cool things today and I am glad we came back here to snorkel. We headed back to the university for lunch and I fed the Iguanas my leftovers. I finished my BRUV analysis and inputted data into Excel.
